Hey, I think Laampros just incinerated one of those flying demons while aiming at Mitch. So those ones might be vulnerable to fire (or at least the fire of their dimension’s king).

Maybe Kyle’s fire would have an effect on them too, on account of his being Laampros’s son.

I’m wondering it Kyle can redirect Laampros’ fire or absorb it like he did at the warehouse in the first or second chapter.

Last two panels: My first thought was the scene in Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi where the Millenium Falcon just manages to outrun the expanding shockwave of plasma starting to destroy the Death Star, but the tie fighters that are flying just behind aren’t quite fast enough to survive.

I think they might need some family counseling. I know Kyle’s going through a rebellious phase right now; dating super villains, being out late, looking at pornography on the computer, however, I think if he has a sit down with his father, and some open communication, they can patch up this whole silly apocalypse thingy lickety split.

I’m not sure that the upholstery would survive Laampros

y’know sometimes there are generation gaps, and in this case, Kyle’s first generation, and his father’s still got his heart and head in the old country. it can be difficult, but someday they’ll see eye to eye.

Um, Lampros, wouldn’t a rolled up newspaper to the nose, or in Mitch’s case (mmm!), a swat to the behind be sufficient punishment? This whole roasting in mid-air thing seems a bit…excessive. Plus, you’ll never teach Kyle proper pet care if you keep murdering them when they annoy you. It shows that you’ve been an absentee father all this time, because you suck at daddying right about now.

So far I’m loving how the father’s being presented: Epic big bad who’s affably evil and not even really bothered by the ‘insects’ bothering him, has no problems with his son opposing him and even willing to leave his friends/’pets’ alone if they aren’t bothering him. No random destruction (so far) just because he can and fine with talking with his son (which is doing way better at protecting everyone so far than everyone else’s actions to this point).

I am finding myself rather liking him.

Rasputin was really hard to kill, I remember my college professor getting all animated on what all it took to kill him. She really loved the gory parts of history. ^_^ Good times. At least I am pretty sure it was Rasputin…

just googled it, apparrantly they made him eat and drink loads of stuff with cyancali, but he didn’t get poisoned, then they shot him in the chest 3 times and left him but he somehow still made it outside the building, then they took him and threw him into an ice cold river where he finally died… wtf… the poisoning alone! I mean isn’t it like one of the most dangerous and fast killing poisons? Was he actually immune?!

Thank you, very kind. Just a new and very demanding job… in a good way. So I have to be careful about my on-line time. I don’t have nearly enough. The TYP work in the last pages is amazing and I want to bore everyone and write page and pages of praise about it. But I must be good.

He might have been an awesome dad to Kyle if he’d raised him! He seems perfectly reasonable and calm, even though his son is basically trying to beat him up. So cute!

That would be one BIG litter box.

Laampy is a creature of flames, and Kyle is bathing him in flame. He might see it as a welcoming present more than an attempt to stop him. “Ah, that feels nice, how thoughtful of you!”

Maybe his mother was another fire demon Lord of Hell (or Lady of Hell, who knows, they’re demons, he could have two daddies, not a mommy), and for some reason they decided to put Kyle in the human world so they could make their future plan to dominate Earth happen, since it seems to have needed hellfire to make the portal open.

Strangely reasonable demon lord. Maybe all that they need to solve the crisis is a good negotiator team?

We all know demons are all about legalisms, so a good lawyer should be able to negotiate a deal. Got to watch out for loopholes and exceptions, and make sure the forms are filed in triplicate to the appropriate demonic records office.

To take a page from Crowley’s book on Supernatural, get a really long legal document with small print you can’t read without a microscope. That was a hilarious scene when he was making that deal with the Leviathan king, Dick Roman. XD

It does not look like they are not going to get him through the gate right now. But if not, they will have to bring him back to this place later, which seems to me even more difficult. So I understand why they don’t retreat, regroup and replan.

If we’ve already seen that Kyle’s pyrokinesis extends beyond the fire he generates (how he controlled the fire in the apartment complex), could he possibly gain control of the fire Laampros generates as well?

I had a friend who had her pet dog stuffed after it died. It really was a schnauzer (honest, I wouldn’t make that joke, ever) and damn, it was creepy to see it in her living room

Doki is wiped. Did the “marathan training” thing for the first time in a couple of weeks, it was cancelled one week because the air was bad and last week I was too sick to go last week. Tonight was the “running the course they will use for the Turkey Trot on Thursday, so I managed to walk the whole course without 1) vomiting or 2) dying. Afterwards we did the buying of the things we need to fix dinner on Thursday. I will not be taking part of the Turkey Trot because I get to stay home and cook for everyone, isn’t that so nice of them? And tomorrow I get to clean house and bake the pies and devil the eggs and probably more…

My family called about 10:30 pm yesterday and told me that they are bringing the turkey to my house. So I too have to clean up the house.
Sigh!

I always want to reply to that kind of thing with, “Gosh that’s nice, hope you enjoy dinner on the lawn because I made plans and I won’t be there.”

Even when it’s not true. Because being “volunteered” is very bad manners.

I’d rather have last minute plans sprung on me than eat alone.

My cough was nice and didn’t bother me until after I had walked the full course.

Hope you get some time to rest. Otherwise tell them the turkey will be delayed unless they help get things ready.

well, mother is going to take a nap after the Turkey Trot, so we will probably eat late afternoon instead of early afternoon. Sister is making two dishes, mother is making 1 dish and the rum cake. Just about everything else will be me. It was the same last year.

It is. Rum in the cake and in the topping, but cooking it removes a bit/most/all? of the alcohol.
