Uh, oh.

So! Anaado is taking matters into his own hands! Is he really stronger than ever before? What is he willing to do to “remind” Spooky of his past? It looks he caught Spooky with his guard down—what price will our cuddly sorcerer pay for that mistake? And, finally, is there any possible way for Vero to make Anaado’s eyes prettier with her colors? (Trick question! The answer is obviously “no.” Those eyes are so pretty… 🙂 )

Ugh, I’m disappointed in Anaado. I wanted him to collaborate in some way with Spooky and Kyle. Now we’ll have a heartbroken Spooky AND Anaado, both with magic. Who knows what unintended consequences are going to turn up now?!?

We shall soon find out.

I have this awful feeling that Anaado learned so much more than mere patience and friendship while waiting for Spooky to rescue him.
I have a feeling that he wasn’t always a captive but sometime int hat period an active demon doing demonic things.

Also, that’s not love Anaado.

One thing is for sure. They taught him the temper of a demon, and how to use every bit of power when you got it, and Anaado suddently got a power boost. Sudden power boosts, mixed with anger, can make you do rash things.

Anaado may regret his actions later, but desperation and anger is in the driver seat of his mind right now – and he *is* a demon after all. A low-power one, but that only made him learn his ‘lessons’ that much more, and he just got a whiff of freedom. Not giving that up again so easy. Not even for a love… that betrayed him anyway (in his mind).

And you’re right, Alex, he has such pretty lavender eyes. Just hard to notice when they’re filled with anger.

Power boost… Huh, now that raises an interesting idea. Anaado may know intellectually that he has access to a demon princes’ power, but does he actually have the wherewithal to wield it? Especially in the heat of the moment when passions are running high and your concentration is likely to not be the best.

Hmm. Should we keep an eye out for the “Anaado’s current (stolen) powers run amok and Spooky proves his love by trying to save Anaado from the mess that the demon has got himself into” plot point?

As an outsider, it didn’t make him stronger, it made him doubt the only person that pulled him through all the sh*t. They crippled his baseline.

Because that’s the thing about manipulation… it affects you even after you think it’s over.

Yes, that’s very true. I do believe it’s possible to overcome abuse, but it takes time, and Anaado hasn’t had a lot of that yet.

… Wow, anaado is really showing spooky how bad the royal demons were, by beeing just like them, cuz that is totally going to help his case and show spooky that he should stay….

Damn. I guess even the power of love can’t change your basic demon nature. Anaado’s violet eyes were really super pretty before he started choking the life out of Spooky. I knew this was going to get messy, but I was hoping it wouldn’t take such a violent turn. Spooks better fire up his glowing green-eye mode before it’s too late. Damn, Anaado, I guess this was the only option left to you, but it still hurts to see you end up on this road to antipathy. Hopefully Spooky can prevent you from becoming his nemesis/enemy, but it looks like it won’t be anytime soon.

I don’t think this is especially demonic. A human might do the same, if you can imagine them in this situation.

The operative word here being might, as opposed to the default reaction for something like a demon. Basically I was saying that even the humanizing power of love can sometimes not override the innate malevolent nature of a demonic psyche. But you are right in saying that (unfortunately) too many humans would react in that way such as to make this outcome probable regardless of whether Anaado is a demon.

I dunno… I’m horrible at personal relationships, which is why I’m almost 50 and single. 🙂

But something along the lines of “BAD PUPPY!” and swatting him on the nose with a mystical newspaper seems appropriate. Anaado has a lot of power (more so, now) but zero maturity.

Man, I don’t know who to root for because my heart just breaks for both of them.

Love has changed so completely to hate that it is hard to see a way back. But even now, I can’t see Spooky just sending Anaado back, even if he could do that easily. Maybe if he has no other way of saving himself. But maybe not even then.

Hmm, am I the only one going, “Yeah, if I spent literally years being literally tortured and I was expected to go back to said torture for the benefit of one of the people who is supporting my torture* on the supposed chance that the person who hadn’t saved me before and the person who supported my torture would get me out later, I would not in fact be down with this idea?” Because I absolutely would not.

*Yes, I know Kyle isn’t in that group, but Anaado thinks he is.

Just because Kyle is a demon prince, Anaado doesn’t believe he’s capable of good at all…that’s so hypocritical. Anaado is a demon himself. A lot of people believe that demons in general are incapable of being good.

(And I have to say, the discussion on this page, and the last several pages, has been a lot of fun for me. Y’all really get where both these guys are coming from. 🙂 )

Whoopsies, This has crossed the line Andy, you’re overwrought with your feelings, I get that, but this is not how to handle it. maybe you and Spooky should take some time apart if this is what the relationship has come to. Might I recommend looking up an Incubus named Raz, he’s good with helping people face interpersonal problems. I think discussing your expectations, versus how it played out in reality could do you a multiverse of good.

I still feel sorry for Anaado, but I don’t like him so much anymore.

Come on, Kyle, wake up! Kyle needs to wake up and take control over his body again. Now that he knows how to control his demonic powers (more or less) he can easily take down a lesser demon like Anaado. Stop letting Anaado use your powers, Kyle! Take him down, wake up!

I’ve got a feeling that Anaado might be distracted enough right now to have Kyle waking up again…!

This might be the moment when Kyle can best hear you…

And there we have it….. a demon created in Hell that claims to be the one demon who is a “nice guy”….shows his true nature when crossed. Hmmm? How does that saying go? “You can take a demon out of Hell, but you can’t take the Hell out of a demon.” Wink.

Okay, at this point it seems that we’re on the cusp of a good ol’ fashioned comic book fight scene. I mean, it’s possible that on the next page Anaado recoils in horror from his own actions of attacking Spooky, and going “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” – but I kinda doubt it.

So I think it’s time for a Who’d Win combat discussion.

In the blue corner we have Spooky Jones, who’s a magician with a lot of power, versatility, and who’s good at making stuff up on the spur of the moment. Also, his habit of ignoring rules and bullying government agents to try to track down the Platinum Priestess (in the text story) suggests to me that he fights dirty.

In the red corner we have Anaado, currently wearing Kyle’s body and therefor theoretically wielding the much greater power levels of a demon prince. However as I mentioned below, I’m still suspecting that Anaado might not have quite as good a grasp at Kyle’s full power as he thinks.

Both participants have fought alongside each other, but that was a long time ago. If their combat styles have remained the same, then their opponent might be able to guess their strategic weak spots. If their styles have changed over time, then the opponent will need to be quick on the mental feet to anaylse (on which point I would give advantage to Spooky).

Assuming my tactical assessment is correct, then I’m giving a win to Spooky.

Now I’ll ask the rest of you to put your feelings aside, ignore whether you like the character or not, and think carefully about what we know or can reasonably extrapolate about their fighting abilities. Who’d Win?

I’d think that Spooky has that spell’s ripcord in hand and he can choose to pry Kyle loose if he really wants, even knowing that it’ll cost Anaado…

Spooky has developed his combat style. Anaado has not had the opportunity.

Katie has been VERY busy with Bree as we have been taking classes to overcome her fear of people! It’s been slow work, but she loves dogs so much that she makes a lot of progress in class. She went to a stable last week and my dreams of having a stable dog may become reality! She had no problems in the arena and went into a horse trailer with the boldness of a hound. She was a little uneasy in the barn, but I think that’s because she couldn’t actually see the horses at this particular stable. I think I’ll ask Nick if I can bring Bree to our barn to see how she reacts to the horses there. I have a feeling she’ll be great. But, guys, my dog is becoming an actual dog. She’s doing DOG THINGS. – squeals – I’m so happy. She has doggy friends. I could cry with how happy I am. My dog dogs.

I’m really proud of her. It’s been six months of really hard work. Six months ago, she couldn’t even walk! She more stumbled around and now she prances and walks. She still is slow, but she gets stronger every day. We’re trying to teach her spinning now so she can get an idea of where her back end is. It’ll also help strengthen the back area and help make her fear of people a little easier. It’s hard for her to get the spinning thing down! She took to the Box Exercise before the spinning one!

We tried to use Sophie (who chases her tail all of the time) to help her along but that didn’t help. XD As always, terriers work at their own stubborn pace. HA HA HA.

Tonight’s the right night for camping, too

Whether Spooky recovers the upper hand will depend on how fast he is on his mental feet. Considering all that Spooky has been through in his life and professional career, I’d be surprised if he didn’t recover pretty much immediately.

However, it occurs to me that he might be adept enough to play at still being helpless, and give Anaado proverbial rope-enough-to-hang-himself.

I’m not sure of any solution right now

Also, for today’s camping Saxon will not be at work. Saxon is at home with his father doing bathroom renovations. We’ve just spent two days with a rented jackhammer removing tiles, and have now advanced to the point where we’ve started laying down the cement mix that will form the base for the new shower unit.

Those things are always better in memory than in execution.
I remember paneling the basement with my Dad and brother. The electric wiring lives in my nightmares.
And I once built a platform bed with two friends. One of whom couldn’t use a ruler properly. At least the platform can’t break.
