Now don’t be a hater, Evil Giant One-Eyed Demon King. I, for one, think Tsunami’s water attack looks pretty darn cool.

So! Tsunami’s hanging in there, but it looks like he’s struggling going one-on-one against Kyle’s Dad. Will he be able to turn things around? And if not, what will Laampros do to him and his friends?

I was thinking of a harem setting for Laampros. Something out of Aladdin or Kismet (bow low for the mighty Wazir schtick)

Lord I do love meta characters. There’s one, in one of my many favorite webcomics too, Omgcheckplease, on Tumblr. John Johnson, the Metaphysical Goalie. You never see ALL of him.

I like how the art shows Tsunami still drawing on the river. It would be darkly comedic if Tsu had enough stamina to keep attacking Laampros but he suddenly discovered that he’d sucked the river dry in an “Oops!” moment.

Unfortunately, realistically, it looks like Red Hot’s attempt to weaken Laampros wasn’t successful, and after everything the team has been through I doubt if Tsunami has the stamina to keep fighting a demon lord on his own.

I think it was successful, seeing as the portal is still apparently toxic to new arrivals.

Someone better tether down Spooky.

Do any of us know what it takes to get demon beard to look so shiny and silky? That was probably the last of his Demon Hold Gel, made specifically for a demon king to look his best without gunky build up or residue.

Will this finally be the tjing that will move one of Duncan’s hairs out of place? o.o

Only if he hasn’t gotten all his powers back, because perfect hair is definitely one of them.

Goodness only knows.
In general terms, since Spooky isn’t the main protagonist of the story it was kinda-sorta predictable that he might be sidelined in order to give Red Hot room to fix the problem (the same for the other YP members to a lesser extent, of course, but they aren’t specialists in demonology). But the way he was sidelined completely flummoxed everyone.

Interestingly, in story telling terms the Spooky-incapacitates-himself-to-save-as-many-innocents-as-possible route is a variation on the can’t-save-everyone trope that’s been proposed as a narrative weakness for ultra-powerful characters like Superman.

Goodness. I have not heard Alex called that before, but it fits.

I’m reminded of Mae West…

I much prefer this version of ‘incapacitating the superpower’ over the way, say, Professor X is usually sidelined in the pages of X-Men.

Spooky’s not just hanging out, maxin’, relaxin’ all cool (I’m sorry, I’m so sorry) — he’s playing an active role in the conflict, namely trying to save as many people as he can — everyone, if he can. The team can take care of themselves — at the very least, they know the risks of the job. Spooky is the only one who can guarantee that the people TYP came here to save can actually be saved.

They’re called The Young PROTECTORS, after all, not The Young Demon-Lord-Punchers — that just happens to be what the rest of the team has been forced into doing at the moment.

Curt, I agree absolutely with this. Spooky’s mission, that he gave himself, is to protect and save pople. That’s what he is doing now.

Also, what is the annihillator doing during all of this? Are we to assume that he’s still powerless on the ground somewhere? Or is he up to something?

Never mind, I figured it out. The ground was getting too hot under his feet, so he decided to make a run for it and star in that ‘Giggles the annihilator’ webcomic instead.

(If someone already made this, admittingly rather bad, joke, I apologize ^^)

Interestingly, moderator Dave mentioned that last week, and on a casual glance I couldn’t see the advert. When you mentioned it I doubled checked, still couldn’t see it, and in a fit of frustration went and googled the comic itself so that I could grok the art style just in case that helped. And *now* that I come back the advert is there.
I swear it’s deliberately trying to mess with my head.

Answer to Alex: it is not everybody who likes cool. Some like it hot.

Okay, speculation on comic book physics here. We can see that Tsunami can control water enough to create solid water constructs. I can’t remember off the top of my head whether we have any evidence that Laampros (or Red Hot, for that matter) can similarly create ‘solid fire’. Nevertheless, it occurs to me all the kinetic energy of their elemental power bolts ramming against each other will be releasing a lot force ‘sideways’ – in an expanding disc perpendicular to the direction of their head-on collision.

Might this be the reason that Spooky is drifting away? The placement of Spooky on the page makes it easy to imagine that he may be being pushed away by air currents created by expanding steam. And which, if true, puts Fluke in a bad position on the ground.

I think tsu is gonna be out of the fight soon. His strength and stamina can only last so long. Laampros is still very strong. And by him being “displeased” the team is in real danger. I’m shocked he isn’t “angry” because he did lose an eye. But maybe demons can regenerate and its no big deal. I guess Alex will surprise us with what happens next if the day is to be won for typ and humanity.

Laampros, whatever you do, please don’t walk up and down a catwalk while singing Right Said Fred. Please, PLEASE don’t do an I’m-too-sexy-for-my-shirt catwalk walk. Oh no. OH NO. Anything but that.

Hey, I know most people consider opera boring but what can I say? Siegmund and Sieglinde are brother and sister and they end up man and wife. Creepy but never mind, it’s opera. Siegmund was running away from killing an entire saloon filled with a huge wedding party he didn’t know but he din’t like that they were marrying a woman off without the woman’s consent. Then there is Sieglinde husband Hunding who was friend with the wedding party and will give Siegmund one night of hospitality (no Sodom and Gomorrah he) before he tries to slay Siegmund. But “Wolf” or the “Wanderer” has left a sword plunged into an Ash tree waiting for the man with enough strength and power to free it. Did I say that the tree grows in the middle of Hunding’s house… Well of all that, opera is made.

Aaannnd once again Valentines Day makes me reminis about ‘The Great St. Valentines Day Weekend Double-Ding Event’ of 2014.
Prior to the current patreon funding scheme Alex had a donation bar, set at $400, and once that was $400 was reached we’d get a second page of webcomic per week. And while Alex was away over that weekend we readers took the opportunity to try to break the donation bar by overwinding it to $800.
I am such an old fogey.

I may like the Danish attempt to adopt Valentine’s and Halloween when it reach the point where it largely comes discounted candy afterwards.

….though Denmark – especially started by stores- have adopted it a little between some people, just like Halloween. I like the pumpkin heads, but otherwise find both days silly adoptations, since we don’t have the days officially and stores just want to make money.

P.S. when I say we have adopted it a little, it means the stores keep it up, and it gets a litte bigger each year with more people catching on. The one ‘adoption’ I don’t mind that much is Black Friday, which has exploded in just a few years. It’s an over all sales day rather than adding a day to sell tradition’s products for traditions we don’t have.

Stores around me will immediately clear Valentine’s for all the President’s Day sales.

That’s a day too? At least we probably won’t ever have that day, since Denmark is a monarki.

Almost every month in the USA has a Federal Holiday.
Excuses for sales and days off.

President’s Day celebrates GW Washington and A Lincoln’s birthdays.

Here we have no holidays between whitsun Monday and Christmas. Some get labor day (1/5) and/or our national day (5/6) off, but some do not. Anyway, nothing from June to Dece,ber.

Independence day – July 4th, Labor Day is the first Monday in Sept, Columbus Day in Oct (or whatever they will call it as Columbus can be controversial) and Veteran’s Day – Nov 11.

I think there’s nothing in August because July and August were the traditional vacation months.

When I was young, I knew Veteran’s day as Armistice Day from the adults around me. I remember red poppies being handed out. Then came Vietnam and the name changed.

When I was scheduling research work in the 80’s and 90’s, November was a hassle not because of Thanksgiving and Veteran’s Day but because my workers were hunters and dear seasons (yes, there are several seasons to hunt deer)…
