So! Fluke is mere feet from spearing the Dampener. And The Big, Bad, Beanstalk Hug was able to slow The Annihilator down, but not stop him. Will Fluke be able to destroy the Dampener before The Annihilator gets his mitts on him?

Random bizarre observation made while trying to find something pertinent to comment on: The tentacle monster beanstalk is blocking the view of the people in the murder box(tm). They can only see the random fight scene mayhem, and not Fluke’s pulse pounding endgame.

I think the fact that we get one more phallic page where our Fluke is spearing and thrusting, forcing his manly way forward in order to bring pleasure to all the members of his team.

Now don’t be say, there will be other comics and other dick jokes, but I really do think we’ve hit a home run (so to speak) with these last few pages.

I feel mean, but at some point, as soon as Paul has destroyed that dampener, I hope he removes himself from the scene for a little while if he possibly can.

The string of bad luck that has to follow this at some point, even if he’s had small stages of bad luck during the fight, is going to be daaaangeerous. So either stay away a little or stand VERY close to the bad guys when his bad luck just makes being in his presence an unfortunate thing…

…which it already is for the bad guys rigjt now, which again is good luck for Paul.

Oh dear, the bad luck coming directly Paul’s way at some point is scaring me. This good luck/bad luck .. I can see why he’s deemed too risky for most hero teams (making our team all the more brave).

Kudos to Paul for living with this. Just the though hurts my mind xD

Pretty sure he has to have the bad luck first before he gets the good luck. So when the good luck runs out he goes back to neutral.

But to go back to good luck, which he’s running on big time here, bad luck has to recharge it again. What if he’s sort of working ‘overtime’ on good luck here? How much of it is from his/their earlier bvad luck, and how much will result in future bad luck?

The question is how much has the last few days charged him and how fast is he burning it? We assume all this is luck but for all we know he ran out pages ago and this is just neutral luck and everything Spooky was carrying would be useful.

I admire your perspicacity regarding the many possible variants and effects of Paul’s powers, but I must admit that I now have a headache also… and so am reaching for that soothing medication known as Vodka. 😀

It would be ironic if the piece of the vine that Duncan ripped off and is throwing at Fluke destroys the Dampener.
I went back to Chapter 1, page 37 where Kyle shoots a tiny missile at the first dampener and it had a pyramid-shaped force shield around it. Now that’s some really kinky rathe magics to deal with this corners of that shield but this dampener does not have a shield around it.
Like I said, it would be ironic if Duncan’s own act destroyed the dampener.

And now I’m reminded of how dangerous it was to be around the other dampener when it was blown up >.>
Here’s to hoping that it’s better and safer to just stab it – or throw a tentacle after it.

It is definitely going to go boom with all sorts of sparks and lightning and other stuff lying. It does announce its imminent explosion with lots of vigor before going boom.

In all good Bond films there is a beeping time clock while the huge nuclear bomb counts down the seconds… seems fair. Although, Duncan is way better-looking than Goldfinger.

Well the “on” switch was on Duncan’s arm-band, wasn’t it? So… mebbe not.

Of course it’s still best to destroy it, so it can’t be turned on again, but switching it off would give he others their powers back too, if destroying it will give a big boom like the other one did.

Paul would be a little too close to it for my liking, especially with the chance of bad luck.

Under normal circumstances it would be ironic. Considering Fluke’s powers it would be Tuesday.
(And I think that considering Annihilator’s super speed that he’d better off running over and trying to wring Fluke’s neck or something. But at this point his pride has been buffered enough that I think he’s trying to pull a kewl trick shot.)

I was thinking of Arthur Dent’s conversation with Slartibartfast when he tries to get Slartibartfast to say “the best laid plans of mice and men” and can’t. The reason being that the entire planet was an experiment by the pan-dimensional mice asking the wrong deeply philosophical question.

The thing about following a comic from the start, and be able to discus all of it, but having to wait between every page vs. finding a comic that has a lot of pages already, allowing you the joy to binge-read before you hit the current end, and have to wait like everyone else 😉

Boy, thinking about it, Fluke’s got a LOT of bad luck built up… a few days worth, considering all the stuff that happened to his best friend, and all the trouble happening. Maybe that’s why his luck is lasting so long!

One of the first things we were taught in Kindergarten is that when we play outside we shouldn't rip off leaves or branches from any plants… Because it's hurting them and we should imagine someone tried to pull off a nail or finger of our hands! (Yes very graphic, but it worked!)
I guess Kindergarten is just too far in the past for Duncan though, eh? x'D

It’s a good idea to teach kids that anyway given how many plants are poisonous. My Mum made sure to scare the crap out of me about Deadly Nightshade so I wouldn’t touch anything I couldn’t identify. Of course this backfired slightly with me learning more than her about plants and then eating random stuff from the hedge.

O, I hate setups like that. The odds are Fluke will NOT destroy the damping field with the next frame. More likely he’ll be bull’s-eyed by the Platinum P-string. Either that, or like the beanstalk, the damping field generator will have safeguards that will zap him. Goddamnit, this has gone on too damn long. But first, that dampener has to die, ignominiously, unceremoniously, and painfully, die. . .

Keeping in mind that destroying/deactivating/distracting/another-word-that-starts-with-D the dampener *is* only the first step in stopping the villains’ plan, it begs the question of whether a Young Protectors team that is repowered but down two members is able to match up against a Team Silver where one of the members is out of the game due to dodging laser eye blasts. Bottom line: how long will Fluke’s luck last in keeping the Annihilator distracted before Annihilator can use his super speed to bring down the heroes again?

Of course, I’m still expecting an insanely tight race to thwart the villains’ plans, which then just *barely* fails, and have Laampros turn up. Mainly because Spooky predicted that having Red Hot’s status as a Prince of Hell would probably be a game changer, and that kinda of relies of having demons being around to recognise his status.

Hmm. Gaming has been called off today because one of the co-GMs is coming down sick again and he doesn’t want to pass it on to the rest of the group. Wise, considering the cold, wet weather that the east coast low has brought to NSW and Queensland. Nevertheless, I’m going to have to go out in the cold and wet to go shopping.

Right now Denmark is having summer-day temps (over 77F/25C), which is pretty good by our standard, and have had days is a row, and more to come. A socalled ‘hot-wave’ which is a step below heatwave. Sometimes the humidity is through the roof. A mix of being a country surrounded by water, and here and there an occationally very local and random hitting thunder shower.

Around here, a heatwave is in the 90F range.

Doki is uncomfortable at anything over 74F, Doki would be melting at 90F.

Summer is such a bummer. It’ll get bad for us around July and August with the humidity.

Humidity is the worst. I’ll take a dry heat over thet every day. On previous page day it had rained in the evening/night. Air was so moist in the morning heat that it almost hurt to breathe.

It’s easier to deal with a dry heat, but it’s still hot and I’d rather not be out in either. 🙂

In the American South, we “solve” this problem by having too many fans. If you have a desk or box fan pointed right at you in the evening, both the air and the white noise hum should help you drift off.. When my AC breaks, I sometimes use three!

Doki is also in the South. Doki doesn’t function with a broken AC. Doki is sensitive to the heat. Doki isn’t pleasant to be around without AC.

I’m trying to find an album I want, but it’s an import so really expensive. And it doesn’t seem to be on iTunes or Amazon (digitally). All despite there being several original songs on Youtube. At least there’s that.
