Ow, ow, ow.
First off, let me wish a very Happy Birthday to long-time reader Christopher D.! I hope you had a totally awesome day, my friend!
Secondly, I have some exciting news! The e-book version of Artifice has been included in this week’s Humble Bundle promotion, along with over $320 worth of other LGBT comics, ebooks, and audiobooks in support of the It Gets Better Project.
Other books include Kevin Keller: Welcome to Riverdale, Wandering Son Vol. 1, Queers Destroy Science Fiction, Wuvable Oaf, No Straight Lines: Four Decades of Queer Comics, Heart of Thomas, Smut Peddler 2014, The Mirror of Love, MASSIVE: Gay Erotic Manga and the Men Who Make It, and many more! These are full versions, just like what you’d get buying directly from the publishers or Amazon.
How does the Humble Bundle work? Basically, you just pay whatever you want, whether that’s $1 or $100. You also get to decide what percentage of your money should go to the books’ creators (like me), how much should go to charity (the It Gets Better Project), and how much should go to the Humble Bundle folks for setting this all up. It’s all up to you! If you wind up paying more than the average, you get more books. And if you pay $15 or more, you get ALL the books.
It’s just that easy to become the proud owner of over $320 worth of really great LGBT comics and ebooks (including super-sexy comics, like that MASSIVE book, which I’ve had my eye on for a while now…)
And you’ll also be helping a really important charity in the process! Through videos where adults share their real-life stories, the It Gets Better Project strives to communicate to LGBTQ youth that it does indeed gets better – and inspire the changes necessary to make life better for them. As a video editor, I’ve done work for the It Gets Better folks before, and I really believe in what they are doing. Seeing these videos would have made a huge difference in my own life growing up, and it’s making a big difference is kids’ lives right now. (But if you want to support a different charity, no problem – you can actually choose your favorite from Humble Bundle’s database of over 30,000 charities – again, you have total control!)
Since the company’s launch in 2010, Humble Bundle has raised more than $74 million through the support of its community for a wide range of charities, providing aid for people across the world. So we can be sure the money is going to get into the right hands.
The Humble Book Bundle: LGBTQ supporting Pride Month runs from now until Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time. And then it’s done forever!
These are good people. And it’s a great deal. If you like LGBT comics and stories (and want to help some LGBT kids), you should definitely check it out. 🙂
So! The Annihilator takes the full blast from the Dampener explosion! Will our Silver Fox survive or is this finally how he meets his end?
Tune in this Wednesday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀
