So!

So! Spooky has finally found the Sphere Celestial! But The Platinum Priestess found it first! And now it’s broke! And things are getting wild!

Was The Platinum Priestess really going to do bad things for the greater good? Now that she’s been thwarted, how will she channel her anger towards Spooky? What will Spooky do if the Sphere is damaged beyond repair? Are those Gates flying around dangerous? (And don’t they look awesome?!)

Tune in this Saturday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  1. Avatar for Klaus Klaus says:

Here we have the double cross: Velliok does not want the Walls of Blood and Pain repaired, and has managed to manipulate Spooky into ruining PP’s attempt to do so.

  2. Avatar for Nate Nate says:

This is definitely one of your “Oops?” situations.

  3. So PP wanted to actually save the world? Now that’s interesting… can we trust her? I somewhat doubt so but there isn’t exactly any time to dweel on it atm, what if anyone gets cought by one of the gates O___O

  4. Cannot imagine PP wanting to save anything but her looks and her life. She was sacrificing kids after all. Cannot expect “good” from that! I say that “Spook’s” didn’t break anything. Not directly. Cory had a hand in this. It was a cause/effect of battle damage. PP can point fingers all she likes but SHE is the root of all of the problems here.

  5. Did the portal to Beijing just buzz Spooky’s butt?
    and,
How does an artifact “want” to be found?

  6. Granted, this is contingent on the lore within a setting, but it is a common trope that magic artifacts often have their own awareness. Sometimes it’s due to being empowered by spirits or souls, sometimes just the accumulation of magic over time spurs a spontaneous awakening, and other times it’s actually implanted at the time of creation. Think about the one ring in Lord of the Rings. It was often described as have a malevolence innate to it. It wasn’t just a passive object, it wanted to be found, and tempted its bearers to take risks so that it would be.

  7. Y’know, considering that the Priestess tried to kill Spooky and that it sure looked like Spooky tried to kill the Priestess… I really wasn’t expecting them to have a conversation just because something gate-crashed their party. Ahem.

Their newfound willingness to talk suggests to me that maybe they might be willing to work together to fix the Sphere before resuming hostilities over who gets to use it. I’m not sure how powerful the Platinum Priestess is without her staff, but I’m sure she’s still capable to help Spooky here.

I don’t know how the Sphere can be fixed. Can Spooky use healing magic on the bones and the crazies, maybe? Can Sircea make the artifact expel the blood it’s already absorbed? Can Cory use TK or Mitch use his carry-anything-while-flying ability to move the portals where they need to be? It seems unlikely Cory or Mitch can use their powers that way, but one doesn’t know if they don’t try.

I also think, once the Sphere is fixed, there’s an excellent chance Spooky’s hat and PP’s staff will fall out of the Sphere at their feet. And… not that I want Sircea to get her staff back so easily… but I would love to see a panel of her standing proud, holding her staff again in her left hand, handing over Spooky’s hat with her right hand, and Spooky just taking it, saying “Thanks.”

  8. By the way, regarding “Double-Cross”, I currently think it’s gonna be Mitch double-crossing his teammates in a later chapter. I think the injury he took from the crazies’ crimson energy tendrils will have magically infected him in some way, and no one will notice until it’s too late.

  9. oh my awed applause

  10. (That caption is exactly what I thought of seeing this page.) Whoa wait, what?! The Sphere Celestial has a very misleading name, then. I thought for sure it’d be a crystal ball type thingy… well then this is (even more) troubling D:

  11. Hmmm.

The Platinum Priestess would use harsher language.

It’s a good question to ask.

A fair argument for that could definitely be made.

And that is a very good question.

    And a very good answer!

She is probably the only other person on the planet who could help Spooky with this.

    I love all those strategies.

    Hmmmm.

Do you mean my caption about everyone being the hero of their own story?

    That’s what Spooky thought too.
